So what do you look for when booking a DJ?
1) First you must astatine what you need the DJ to do and the audience they are playing to. For example if it's a wedding you need the DJ to have a vast selection of music for the 50's to modem, this means that all the guests on the night will be catered for.
2)Ask the questions
A) Does the DJ play the type of music that you require?
B) Ask for some examples that they would play?
Sound & light equipment is very important when booking a disco. Have you ever been to a function where the music hurts your ears?
Well if you have this is caused by over running (thrashing) the sound system. This over running is normal because of three things, firstly the DJ doesn't know how to set up his/her equipment, secondly they don't know the difference between just enough volume and too much or thirdly and most commonly the sound system is not big enough for the size venue.
Lighting can play a very important part is creating a good atmosphere, so a good light show is essential.
Booking the DJ
3) Once you have found the DJ you want, you now can procede to book them.
Although most DJ's are honest, there are some rotten apples out there, Xavier-
You hear of horror stories (and we have helped people out before because of this) of DJ's letting down client for weddings and other such big events days before there are due to go ahead.
So when booking make sure you get something in writing, outlining all the dates, time, cancellation etc, read all terms, make sure the information on the contract is correct before you sign it.
Following the above should make booking a DJ a little easier for you, but please remember this is just a guideline, it does not mean you must or that if you don't the DJ is not going to turn up.
